What travellers say about the experience

The third day we enjoyed the tastiest picnic with marvelous views of the port and the marinas with snacks and delicacies from Tibo’s family farm and bakery. An entrepreneur that came back from the city to launch a sustainable farm. In the evening we were surprised by a Corsican music concert in an old church in Bonifacio. What a treat!

Charming people, astonishing Mediterranean landscapes, and rich natural and cultural attractions, destilled into a delicious and diverse gastronomy. The first of many trips to Corsica, without a doubt!
— Xavier Cazorl Ecotourism Expert
“It’s the first time in Corsica that an ecotourism product in a protected area has been created collectively. A lot of stakeholders are involved, including civil society, the private sector, an environmental organisation and public authorities. We built a strong participative scheme and we established a constructive dialogue.”

sustainability

  • This itinerary has an ecological footprint of around 0.078 gha per tourist. The main driver for the ecological footprint of the package is the accommodation, while all other categories show a footprint considerably lower than the MEET average.

  • Using the MEET model, the park was able to significantly reduce the environmental impact of the experience. As well as ensuring that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are reflected in the supply chain of the ecotourism itinerary itself by introducing additional training hours for local workers and sustainably conscious criteria for suppliers.

  • Organising the experience around the nature reserve itself allows visitors to get a true sense of local culture, nature and traditions.
